MANUSCRIPT EVALUATION
We generally follow the Manuscript Evaluation Services format and fees as outlined by The Writer's Union of Canada.
Like TWUC, we note that evaluation of a manuscript (MS) and the subsequent changes or suggestions even if followed by the author, do not necessarily guarantee publication. Evaluation will be based on our 28 years' experience in publishing. The author will receive detailed notes, depending on the style and genre, that may be computer generated or legibly handwritten. Editing will not be included, but may be suggested.
The Submission Format
» Submission must be type-written or computer generated, 12-point easy
to-read standard font, double-spaced, with one inch margins on white
paper
» Include a one-page Synopsis of the manuscript
» Include your copyright on the cover page
» Include self-addressed envelope (if MS is large, use padded envelope) and sufficient return postage
» Payment must accompany the MS submission (See below)
The Process
1. General comments on the content may include characterization, setting and
dialogue, research and references, pictures or figures and general credibility agency.
2. Comments on writing technique may include style, format and technical ability.
3. Suggested steps to develop the manuscript may include sequence of topics and
chapters, other suggested references, and general suggestions and/or queries
for author consideration.
4. Depending on MS length, evaluation could take 4 weeks.
5. FEES:
First ten pages: $135.00.
Next pages @ $2.00 per page.
13% HST will be added.
Payment must be in form of cash or:
- 1. Postal Money Order
- 2. Bank Draft
- 3. Bank Certified Cheque

Depending on MS length, evaluation process could take up to 4 weeks. However, we will return it to you as soon as possible. Be sure to include your phone number and/or email address in case we wish/need to communicate with you.
There is no added tax for USA submissions. Payment must be calculated as above and include payment for return postage of your manuscript.
Since this is an evaluating service, and not an editing service, your manuscript may be returned to you containing no additional editorial comments/corrections, but we will note that. |
