Thelma Barer-SteinThelma Barer-SteinThelma Barer-Stein is an author, food and culture consultant, professional adult educator as well as president of Culture Concepts Books.

Born in Vancouver, B.C., Thelma began her professional career as a dietitian, graduating from the University of British Columbia and interning at Toronto General Hospital. She holds a Master's degree (M.Ed.) in Educational Administration, University of Western Ontario, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), at the University of Toronto. Listed in "Who's Who in Canada" and "Chatelaine's Women of Distinction," Selected also for the honor of inclusion in "Great Women of the 21st Century" by the American Biographical Institute, 2005. Thelma is also the author, co-author and co-editor of several books, has contributed many chapters in books, and written more than eighteen academic articles in professional refereed journals.
